La rigenerazione urbana: welfare e workfare?: Uno studio comparativo tra Francia e Stati Uniti

Abstract : Since the start of the new millennium, the neglect of public buildings and the concentration of poverty in some working-class neighbourhoods have encouraged the planning of ambitious programmes of urban regeneration in France and the USA. One question remains unanswered: what profile should we give to city programmes that have social ends? This article deals with the ambiguity of these programmes, particularly in the cases of the cities of Paris and Chicago, and notes the emergence of workfare as the main model for the initiatives studied.
