Battre campagne avec le « président légitime » du Mexique. Carnet de terrain

Abstract : In this article, the author shows how a peculiar repertoire of political action was designed by the 2006 “post-electoral movement” that emerged following the refusal of the left-wing presidential candidate, Manuel Lopes Obrador, to acknowledge the official results of the election. This repertoire entailed the setting up of a “shadow government” (called “the legitimate one” by its members). Through a detailed ethnographic analysis of one of the national touring of the “legitimate President”, that led him from one “municipio” to the other in a seemingly endless political journey, the author tries to decipher the sharp rivalry that now sets up Lopez Obrador’s personal leadership against the institutional machinery of his own party – the Democratic Revolution Party.
