Associations et légitimité extrapolitique : une logique tocquevillienne
Abstract
A literary criticism is presented of volume 1 and 2 of the book "De la démocracie en Amérique," by Alexis de Tocqueville. The author examines differences between the U.S. and France, whether Tocqueville's fears were well founded, and how his thoughts compare in a globalized contemporary world. Topics include the relationship between associations and public opinion, how associations influence politics, and French farmer and member of the anti-globalization movement, José Bové.
