Perspectives japonaises sur la relation Abe – Trump en 2017 : consolidation des relations nippo-américaines ou début d’inflexion ?

Abstract : This article presents Japanese points of view on president Trump’s visit in November 2017. While the official perspective insists on the historical dimension of the visit, on the “unshakeable” US-Japan alliance and on the personal relation between Abe and Trump, other observers remark indeed a consensus regarding the strategy for a “free and open Indo-Pacific” as well as vis-à-vis North Korea, but also possible tensions on issues dealing with security and commerce.
