A la recherche de la contestation politique dans la chine urbaine

Abstract : Looking for political protest in urban China - Where is “politics” in urban China? This question haunts the observers of contemporary China. On one side, there are increasing social unrest, protest movements and popular discontent. Both the intellectual and the man in the street openly criticize corruption, embezzlement and the absence of freedom of expression. On the other side, far from objecting to the regime, the population seems to support it. In order to understand such a paradox, it is necessary to go deeply into the reality of social protest and analyze how it does not intersect with the limits of an opposition between “power” and “society”.
