Les Irakiens en Syrie et en Jordanie : régimes d'entrée et de séjour et effets sur les configurations migratoires

Abstract : Emigration of Iraqis, which began in the 1990s, is among the long list of forced emigrations in the Middle East, which occur with each new geopolitical crisis. It is also the result of long-term migratory patterns that have contributed to the redefinition of the boundaries between Iraq, Syria and Jordan. Today, Syria and Jordan are the destination for the majority of Iraqis fleeing their country since the regime change and as such they play a key role in shaping the Iraqi diaspora. After outlining the different phases of Iraqi emigration to Syria and Jordan, this article studies the policies put in place to deal with the waves of immigration.
