Pauvreté et inégalités en Russie

Abstract : The situation in Russia has changed significantly since the fall of the Soviet Union and the adoption of reforms undertaken over the past twenty years. The paternalistic state has been replaced by a liberal regime in which social interventions by the state are minimal. During the soviet era the divide between the highest and lowest income levels was small. Today inequality is extreme and greater than in other European countries. Poverty has also increased significantly. Social assistance provided by the state is inadequate to address poverty and reduce income inequality.
