La nouvelle presse en France dans les années 1970 ou La réussite par l'échec

Abstract : “Free Press,” “underground,” “counter-cultural,” “revolutionary,” “activist,” “leftist,” “alternative.”.. Many words exist to designate a set of journals and newspapers that appeared in France (and in the western world) in the wake of May 68. Within a few months hundreds of papers sprang that carried the dreams, the hopes, the fights of a generation in search of a new utopia. This article tries to describe the economical model, the prominent characters, the different types of organization of this social, political and cultural phenomenon. The author supports that, despite the so-called “failure” of this new press, some of its characteristics have spread into other newspapers and media and into the whole society.
