La gouvernance de l’océan Arctique à l’aune de la théorie des régimes internationaux

Abstract : The Arctic Ocean governance through the prism of international regimes theory -- Arctic Ocean governance is continuously evolving in the image of the geographical changes affecting the region. While it embodied the military tensions between the Russian and American powers during the Cold War, its management is now presented as an example of peaceful cooperation between Arctic nations. This article aims to analyse changes that have marked the Arctic Ocean governance in the light of international regimes theory. It will be shown that from a highly fragmented governance at the dawn of the 2000s, it has gradually taken the form of a regime complex in which coastal States enjoy significant jurisdiction.
