Migrations et pauvreté : essai sur la situation malienne

Abstract : Why do they leave? The common response is because they are poor and/or out of work. Certainly poverty plays a role in international migration but is an insufficient explanation. Moreover, international institutions and states think that given the amount of money they repatriated migrants actually promote development. The case studied in this article about Malian immigrants in France argues for consideration of the concepts of poverty and wealth in a broader context than simply economic.
