Abstract

Anti-dumping policies of the US and the European Community (EC) have converged since the 1980s as evidenced by their similar structures and time pattern of procedures. This was demonstrated during the Uruguay Round talks when both the US and the EC resisted changes in Article VI of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade. The convergence of the US and the EC in their anti-dumping measures is due to the weakening commitment to free trade.
