Une histoire exemplaire : obstinations et nouveautés dans la transmission d’une tradition politique familiale

Abstract : Every family has its own history, but it is less clear what constitutes the basis of a family tradition. The article tries to answer this question through a case study of what political tradition can mean to a family of broadly left-wing Catholic sympathies over a period of some three generations. This is done, firstly, by focussing on various mechanisms by which a tradition is created and perpetuated. Secondly, the article shows how a series of transformations, adjustments and internal displacements give life to a tradition and allow its transmission.
