It took a long time and numerous conditions for the question of cohabitation to be raised. A comparative survey of the three periods of cohabitation reveals a strong constancy : the inversion of the dyarchy, the supremacy of the Prime Minister. Interviews with the actors confirm this constancy and highlights its characteristics.

Le chemin fut long, les conditions nombreuses pour que la question de la cohabitation puisse se poser. La comparaison des trois épisodes cohabitationnistes révèle une grande constante : l’inversion de la dyarchie, la suprématie du Premier ministre. L’enquête auprès des acteurs confirme cette constance et en précise les modalités.
