The French Agendas Project

Abstract

The French Agendas Project was initiated as a way to better connect research on France to comparative research on institutions and public policy. This chapter provides a good overview on the research undertaken over the past decade. It also explains methods and specificities concerning the French datasets. In addition to its original focus on institutions, a large part of the project today concerns research on party pledges and manifestos, as well as media. In particular, much recent research has dealt with issue attention and competition in the French context. CAP has very clearly enabled the comparability of France to other countries to be improved.
