Catégories socioprofessionnelles en milieu ouvrier et comportement politique : d'après 10 enquêtes de l'IFOP

Abstract : SOCIO-OCCUPATIONAL CATEGORIES IN THE WORKING CLASSES AND POLITICAL BEHAVIOUR, by GUY MICHELAT AND MICHEL SIMON A sample of 20,519 people was established on the basis of 10 IFOP surveys. The size of the sample allows an analysis to be made of the 37 socio-occupational categories defined by the INSEE, a distinction being made between male heads of household, female heads of household and females not heads of household. The votes of the categories comprised in the working class group are then analysed according to age and the level of studies and income. These variables illustrate the different effects that the socio-occupational category has on voting intentions. [Revue française de science politique XXV (2), avril 1975, pp. 291-316.]
